Austria At 10 sites in 4 Austrian states (Länder), various types of Passive Houses will be built with a total of 116 housing units and ca. 9.200 m² floor space. In the state of Vorarlberg, these include: 1 multifamily building with 4 units in Egg, 2 multifamily buildings with 10 units in Wolfurt, 1 row house with 3 units in Hörbranz and 1 single-family house as prototype for a Passive House system and the attached follow-up project of a housing development with 32 units in Dornbirn. In the state of Salzburg, building projects include: 2 larger developments with 25 units in Kuchl and 31 units in Hallein, and 1 apartment building with 6 units in Salzburg-Gnigl. In the state of Upper Austria (Oberösterreich) 1 row house with 3 units is in progress in Steyr. In the state of Lower Austria (Niederösterreich) 1 single-family house is being built as a prototype for serial production in Horn. Types of construction vary greatly. 3 projects have solid construction with integrated thermal insulation system. All other projects use a variety of mixed construction approaches with solid load-bearing systems and prefabricated timber wall and roof elements.  |
Göteborg (S) 20 + 6 terraced units in 4 + 1 rows, 120 m² total floor space per unit. Timber construction. Lightweight, superinsulated exterior walls, partition walls and floors. Windows have a U-value of 0.85 W/m²K. Timber facade with traditional whitewash. Solar thermal systems for hot water (covering 50% of annual requirement). High-efficiency heat exchanger in ventilation system (90% temperature coefficient of performance). Energy-efficient household appliances (Class A) are installed. Power connection to wind energy facility in Göteborg. One house reserved for demonstration and exhibition purposes. No extra construction costs compared to conventional Swedish construction.
